Christmas in Monaco

Merry Christmas from Monaco!

It is easy to take wherever you live for granted. I am not sure why, but this year I am feeling particularly lucky for being able to live in Monaco. Until the last couple of days the temperature has always been in the double digits, it has been dry with spectacular views of the Mediterranean. The Monaco government makes a big effort to make the Principality appear festive, with lots of lights, trees, a Christmas fair … even music playing in the streets lined with red carpets to encourage people to go shopping!

The picture above is of the Casino Square, the setting for many movies including James Bond and Iron Man 2. On the right side is the Hotel de Paris, on the left is the Cafe de Paris. I drive past far more often than I stop to enjoy the views, which is a pity.
